In Morocoo and throughout the world, disabled people are voicing their claim to rights rather than charity. Quality education, provision of health care, access to housing, transport and employment are essential if disabled people are to play a constructive role in society. This book provides an analysis of topics such as: the integration of disabled people into communities; the particular needs of disabled women and female caregivers; disabled children's needs and their participation in programmed and services; community-based rehabilitation; and Save the Children's work in Morocco. As well of being of relevance to local and international organizations involved in disability work, this book should also be of use to researchers and development practitioners in the field. At a time when seeking the participation of project beneficiaries is recognized as vital to successful development work, it seeks to offer an example of how this has been achieved in Morocco.
