This volume consists of the papers that evolved from a workshop on prepositions held at the 33rd Annual Meeting of Societas Linguistica Europaea (August 31 - September 2, 2000) in Poznán (Poland). The workshop was organized with the intention of providing a forum in which scholars working on prepositions from various theoretical points of view could exchange their ideas. The volume includes contributions by researchers from Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, and the USA.
