Rachel Sargeant was born in Lincolnshire. She studied at University College Wales in Aberystwyth and pursued a career as a librarian before relocating to Germany to train as a teacher. She took up writing when her children were young and has gone on to enjoy success in short story competitions and has been published in women's magazines. Long Time Waiting is Rachel Sargeant's debut novel. She currently lives in Germany with her husband and two children.
