The Author: Arthur Sanders is Professor and Chair of the Department of Politics and International Relations and Director of the Honors Program at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He has an A.B. from Franklin and Marshall College and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. His teaching and research interests focus on campaigns and elections, political parties and interest groups, mass attitudes and behavior, and media and politics. The author of Making Sense of Politics (1990), Victory (1992), and Prime Time Politics (2001), he has published numerous book chapters in edited volumes and articles in professional journals.
