Description
Crime analyst Kate Heaney is hoping to make amends with her estranged husband, Henry. But before she can broach the topic of moving back home, Henry takes off to pick up Kate's relapsed alcoholic brother, Conor, from a local bar. What starts out as a quick errand results in Henry's death, and Conor, with a complicated legal history, is the primary suspect. Kate is determined to find the killer, so she enlists the help of her ex-affair partner, Edmonton Police Department Sergeant Erik Jorgensen. Between family secrets, rival gangs, and oil execs, Kate quickly gets more than she bargained for and soon her life--and her job--are on the line.

A former producer, writer and director of factual series television, Linda Sanche's credits include three seasons as senior story producer on the true crime show Murder She Solved (W Network, OWN, True Crime Network). After her 17-year career in television, Linda retrained as a crime analyst. She worked for a year at the South Vancouver Community Policing Centre but realized she's better suited to writing about crime than trying to solve it. Linda's short story "The Electrician" was published in the Sister in Crime Canada's West's anthology Crime Wave 3: Dangerous Games and was a finalist for the Crime Writer's of Canada Best Crime Short Story Award. Linda lived in Vancouver for several decades but now resides in her hometown of Calgary with her Northern Irish husband, daughter, dog, and two cats. Off the Mark is Linda's first novel.
