In his earlier professional roles, he teaches undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students and leads research programs in plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture, microbial technology, and crop improvement. He holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Tamil Nadu, India, and a PhD in Biotechnology from Utkal University, Odisha, India. His research interests include micropropagation, DNA fingerprinting, and stress-related gene characterization. He receives several project grants and contributes extensively to scientific publications across plant biotechnology and crop improvement.
