Essentials of Computers for Nurses

As computers continue to become more common in the health-care industry, computer literacy has become an integral part of the nursing profession. Selected "Book of the Year" by the "American Journal of Nursing" in its first edition, this book provides an introduction to computer technology for nurses. The first half of the book covers microcomputer hardware, on-line networks, microcomputer software and database coding schemes. The second half of the book reviews nursing administration, practice, research and education and has been expanded to include home-health and intensive-care applications. Each chapter begins with a set of objectives and concludes with a summary section of related issues, suggestions for hands-on experiences and study questions.
