Description
This text aims to make an authoritative contribution to the theory and technology of pressure swing adsorption. PSA is rated as the technology of choice in numerous actual and potential large scale applications, in the areas of hydrogen recovery, air separation (actual applications), and the recovery of methane from landfill sites, and the production of carbon dioxide (potential applications). Hydrogen purification, air separation and small scale air driers are currently important commercial applications. The rational design and optimization of a pressure swing absorption process requires a reasonably detailed mathematical model. Certain chapters are mathematical in approach, aimed chiefly at readers directly involved in process design and optimization. At the same time, these chapters may afford insight to the general reader into underlying principles and the strengths and limitations of thye various approaches. This book is directed at PSA engineers and the managers who invest in PSA systems and require information upon which to base their choices.
