Text and Graphics in Electronic Age

This is an introduction to the principles and skills necessary for high-quality, camera-ready copy of scientific manuscripts. It highlights the potential of DTP for scientists. It introduces all aspects of DTP, with particular emphasis on fundamentals of typography, book design, requisite computer hardware and various types of software that assist in DTP. Specific examples are based on the Apple Macintosh desktop publishing system, but the principles discussed are applicable to other systems.
