Description
Erasmus was highly criticized for his Latin translation of the New Testament. The English scholar, Edward Lee, was one of those critics. The fourth volume of the Amsterdam edition of the apologias contains the critical edition of the Latin text of the apologia against Lee. The volume contains an introduction in English and a commentary including an identification of sources quoted, and linguistic, philological, theological and historical background information elucidating the Latin text.
