Description
The Workshop approach to introductory statistics is a fully interactive pedagogical approach, eliminating the distinction between lectures and laboratory sessions. Using the computer, students work on activities that allow them to explore and analyze data and at the same time learn basic concepts and statistical methods. The topics covered are those typically found in a one-semester introductory statistics course. An added emphasis in the Workshop approach is on students working together and writing up their observations. Our publication, the student activity guide, is completely stand-alone and can be used in place of a standard text. It may also be used as a supplement to a text. A special feature of the book is its provision for use in courses taught using computers or graphing calculators.
