Prof. Dr. Christoph Roser ist Experte für Schlanke Produktion und Professor für Produktionswirtschaft an der Hochschule Karlsruhe. Er studierte Automatisierungstechnik an der Fachhochschule Ulm und promovierte in Maschinenbau zum Thema Flexibles Design an der University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts, USA.Danach arbeitete er fünf Jahre bei den Toyota Central Research and Development Laboratories in Nagoya, Japan, wo er das Toyota-Produktionssystem untersuchte und Methoden zur Engpasserkennung entwickelte. Nach Toyota wechselte er zu McKinsey & Company in München, wo er sich auf die Schlanke Produktion spezialisierte und zahlreiche Projekte in allen Segmenten der Industrie vorantrieb. Bevor er Professor wurde, arbeitete er für die Robert Bosch GmbH, Deutschland. Dort war er zunächst Experte für die Umsetzung, Forschung und Ausbildung in der Schlanken Produktion. Später setzte er sein Fachwissen als Leiter Fertigungssteuerung im Geschäftsbereich Bosch Thermotechnik ein. Im Jahr 2013 wurde er zum Professor für Produktionswirtschaft an die Hochschule Karlsruhe berufen, um seine Forschung und Lehre zum Thema Schlanke Produktion fortzusetzen.Im Laufe seiner Karriere arbeitete Dr. Roser in fast zweihundert verschiedenen Betrieben an Projekten der Schlanken Produktion, unter anderem in der Automobilindustrie, im Maschinenbau, bei Solarzellen und Gasturbinen, in der Chipfertigung, der Papierherstellung und der Logistik, bei Elektrowerkzeugen und Weißer Ware, in der Heizungs- und Verpackungsindustrie, in der Lebensmittelverarbeitung und in der Sicherheitstechnik, im Finanzwesen und in vielen anderen Bereichen.Er ist preisgekrönter Autor von mehr als fünfzig akademischen Veröffentlichungen und hat diverse Bücher geschrieben, unter anderem ein Buch zur Geschichte der Produktion . Neben Forschung, Lehre, Vorträgen und Beratung zur Schlanken Produktion interessiert er sich sehr für verschiedene Ansätze zur Fertigungsorganisation, sowohl historisch als auch aktuell.
