William Donaldson's preposterous invention, "Henry Root", became known for his correspondence with celebrities from many walks of life, which was published in "The Henry Root Letters" and "The Further Letters of Henry Root". This outspoken Englishman has now undertaken, with his wife, a fact-finding mission to Europe, where he met leading public figures and held a full and frank exchange of views with them. Based on the "diary" kept by Mr Root during his peregrinations, this book contains blow-by-blow accounts of his adventures and impressions, as well as his mature thoughts, recollected in tranquillity.
