Description
This book concerns of Fuel Cell aircraft and the testing of its systems. A feasibility study provides a preliminary definition of new forms of aircraft power systems that could be provided by fuel cell technologies. A parametric sizing of different aircraft categories is included, from two-seater aircraft to small 32 passenger commuters. This book presents an analytical model of the fuel cell system dynamics that describes its performance based on physical system inputs, taking into account the main physical concepts of the electrochemical, chemical and energy behavior. Moreover this engineering tool can be used to help future development and optimization of cooling system for FC aircraft. The code is shown through SIMULINK. In order to validate predicted results, data from real fuel cell flight is used and presented. Furthermore, this book presents the research activity to support the design of "fuel cell aircrafts" from the failure analysis point of view.
