Description
This work proposes mathematical models and methods for the analytical and numerical treatment of transient processes in single and multi-phase heat exchangers. All important flow arrangements and heat exchanger configurations are considered. The plug-flow, dispersed plug-flow and cell models are applied to describing transient processes in heat exchangers. The Laplace transform and numerical inversion algorithm as well as other methods are used. Numerical examples show the influence of different design parameters on the thermal response to variations of inlet temperatures, flow rates and other operating conditions. This text aims to help enable the designer, manufacturer and user of heat exchangers to understand and predict dynamic behaviour of heat exchangers.
Reviews / Votes
..".probably the only book which deals exclusively with the transient heat transfer performance of heat exchangers... Overall, this is a good review for research engineers involved in this field. Recommended for libraries servicing academic as well as industrial R&D in heat exchangers."More details
