Description
In its early history, radar was plagued by technical issues that frequently resulted in dramatic interpretations of "angels" as hostile planes and UFOs. For decades, the US government received reports of unidentified objects, many of which were tracked on radar or failed to display a target when witnesses watched them. This situation led the US Government to search for clues on whether or not these phenomena were genuine and of unknown origin because they were a possible risk to national security and air safety. This study concluded that A careful examination of the horizontal and vertical angel motions has shown that these targets are undoubtedly windborne. This eliminates the possibility of birds, large insects, or anything flying as an explanation for these targets. To maintain altitude, a flying target would have to show an appreciable speed relative to the wind. However, witnesses indicate that the speed of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) differs significantly according to various reports and sightings. Certain witnesses assert they have observed UFOs traveling at astonishing velocities, frequently surpassing 1,000 miles per hour (1,609 kilometers per hour) or even considerably more. For example, in military documents, certain UFOs have been depicted as executing swift movements that challenge standard aerodynamics, indicating speeds that may reach supersonic or hypersonic levels.
