Lucy Rocca (Author)
Lucy Rocca was a heavy and regular binge drinker for her entire adult life up until the age of 35. Disguising an ever-growing dependency within the realms of acceptable social drinking norms, she did not consider her problem to extend to one of being 'an alcoholic' but knew, nonetheless, that she was not in control of alcohol. After a particularly heavy binge that landed her in hospital, she decided to quit drinking altogether, and went on to found Soberistas.com in November 2012 - a social network website aimed at women with alcohol dependency issues. Since then, Lucy has written five books on the subject of women and alcohol dependency, and set up a sober and life coaching practice where she helps people ditch the drink and stay alcohol-free long term. She continues to run the Soberistas website, which now has more than 70,000 members worldwide. Lucy lives in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with her daughter Lily and two dogs, Boris and Bean. She loves surfing, hiking, running, learning, living and loving - all things that developed as a result of adopting the sober lifestyle.
