Is a Witches vs. Fairy Armageddon inevitable?

Cerebrosus, a fairy royal, has been murdered. The killing may have been in self-defense, but the ominous threat of war between the witches and the fey now looms. The impending conflict is a sign the Lustrata has returned-and Persephone Alcemedi is the Lustrata, the Walker Between Worlds.

Seph learns someone-most likely a witch and possibly even one of their Elders-is leaking information to the fairies. Taking bold steps to draw the enemy out, Persephone estranges herself from nearly everyone close to her-even her Nana-and moves with her waerewolf boyfriend Johnny to the city and into a master vampire Menessos's haven. It's not exactly a danger-free zone. Fax Torris, queen of the fire-fairies, has only a single demand to avoid the coming war: the death ofMenessos-and Fax is willing to do anything to gain her ends. Meanwhile, Johnny, embroiled in waerewolf politics, must attend to business with the pack. Persephone, Menessos, and Johnny all race toward their destinies, but even so, the bodies of their allies start piling up.
