Letters of Hope

An enemy-occupied town Men desperate to escape A young woman risks all to help them 1914: German soldiers seize control of Le Quesnoy, destroying property, making demands, limiting freedoms and cutting off communications with free France. As a child, Dominique Favier played hide and seek in the tunnels beneath the town's fortified walls. Now they become the only means of escape for those who know how to access them, and Dominique must balance her desire to help with threats of retribution and punishment. Refugees, injured soldiers, townsfolk imprisoned without trial and forced labourers all need rescuing but the young woman can only succeed with resilience and hope for a future re-united with loved ones.
