Description
"Tip Top" is a six-level course for young, beginner-to-intermediate learners. Levels 1 and 2 centre on two "real life" characters and the "fantasy characters" Count Horror and his cat, Boris. Levels 3 and 4 contextualize activities within the production of a World Wildlife Activity Book and a class magazine. Practice in the four skills is thus integrated, and there are opportunities for project work. Level 5 introduces learners to traditions and stories from the English-speaking world with extensive reading and listening practice. Level 6 extends the cross-cultural approach with texts from Shakespeare and modern writers, together with related project work to stimulate the learner's imagination and curiosity about the world. Listening tasks are the key feature of the series, and the cassette contains a variety of listening material. The workbooks give opportunities for extension work in and out of the class. The teacher's books incorporate a general methodological introduction, detailed lesson plans, tapescripts, a grammar review section and word lists.
