I never intended to formally write this book. The initial material was written free-hand between the years 1982-1984. It remained dormant for nine years. As the years passed between 1982 and the present, it became apparent that the development of the initial material would assist many mental health patients in understanding what was making them sick as well as what would make them whole. I began, by God’s grace, to clearly see the connection between the sound principles set forth in Sacred Scripture and the swift recovery of my patients. Many patients had been treated with secular therapy, spending years in treatment with well-meaning therapists, but did not leave the therapeutic process feeling any better than when they first entered. I was not only amazed by this, but also puzzled. "Why was this so?" I began to uncover what was really going on in psychotherapy, all the while pondering what was missing. My journey began here and has persisted.
