Description
Designed to be a self-contained course on structures with materials that is straightforward for both student and teacher, this book includes a series of graded design problems that can be used sequentially or independently. It takes account of the varied requirements of the National Curriculum through the medium of high technology, and has been tried and tested as teaching and reference material for students preparing for GCSE technology examinations (equivalent to Key Stage 4). The author recognizes that not all schools have the same level of equipment, and the development of a specification for each design brief has therefore been omitted. It is envisaged that this can be developed by the students themselves, who need to be aware of what equipment is available to them.
