Quality Assurance

These proceedings, ""Quality Assurance-A national Commitment"", consist of papers presented at the specialty conference of ASCE Annual Convention held in Minneapolis, MN, October 5-9, 1997. With increased awareness of sustainable development issues at the national and global levels, there are continuing efforts for the preservation of natural resources, ecosystems, and the environment, and also to enhance economic growth and human development. For the development and implementation of sustainable development programs, innovative civil engineering continues to play an important role in diversified areas, such as transportation, engineered materials, environmental management, landfills, dredging and disposal, and liability protection. Integrated quality assurance issues pertinent to these and other related areas are discussed in these proceedings.
