Prophylactic Use of Ephedrine in C-Section

Ephedrine is used to prevent or treat hypotension in anaesthesia. Its prophylactic use can minimize a lot of complications which could occur in case of spinal induced hypotension. There are many drugs available for this purpose but the advantage of ephedrine over other drugs is a friendly use. I did not see any untoward effects in my patients. I recommend its prophylactic use in ASA(1) and ASA(11) patients in subarachnoid block for C-sections.
