Application of Functionalized Silica Gel in Catalysis

The catalysts which make the organic reactions environmentally benign and economically feasible are extremely demanded by chemical industries. Most of the organic reactions are performed in homogeneous medium bearing the difficulty of separation from the reaction mixture. For this reason, heterogenized homogeneous catalysts that gains scientific interest due to their high catalytic activity and stability are used to combine the practical advantages of heterogeneous catalyst with the efficiency of a homogeneous system. The present monograph describes the synthesis of silica based inorganic-organic hybrid catalytic systems and its applications in various organic transformation reactions.
