Description
Shadows in Stone opens The Echoborne Saga, a mythic speculative trilogy that moves across centuries and realities, where love, memory, and hidden worlds converge.
From Alexandria in 5 BCE to Ireland in 1996, to the wild landscapes of New Brunswick in 2034, lives unfold across time, bound by forces they do not yet understand. A scholar of ancient cultures, a woman who walks the unseen boundaries of life and death, and a man drawn toward a destiny older than memory are each pulled toward a convergence that will reshape everything they believe to be real.
At the heart of the story lies the Echo Realm, a hidden dimension where every choice leaves an imprint, and where echoes of love and loss endure beyond time itself. As past and present begin to fracture and overlap, what once seemed like coincidence reveals itself as design.
In a world where reality is only the surface, the truth waits beneath.
Every love leaves an echo. Some echoes reshape the world.

P. W. Rankine began writing the earliest version of what would become The Echoborne Saga in 1992 with an unpublished, 133,700-word manuscript titled Mechanics of the Cage, completed in 1994. Over the next thirty-two years, the story evolved through more than 4,000 pages of research and notes and over 135 hours of audio and visual reference material. The trilogy that emerged from this long process contains layers of detail and quiet connections that reveal themselves only to those patient enough to look closely. P. W. Rankine was born in Sussex, New Brunswick and lives in Victoria, British Columbia.
