Dr Krishna Kumar Rai holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP, India. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, Amity School of Biological Sciences, Amity University, Mohali, India. He has more than nine years of research experience, particularly in abiotic and biotic stress tolerance in vegetable crops and cyanobacteria. His research interest is in the bio-potential applications of phytohormones & signalling molecules for enhancing plant stress tolerance. He is also keen to identify novel stress defence pathway genes and their potential biotechnological application for strengthening global food security. Dr Rai has published more than forty-five research articles, twenty chapters and has three edited and one authored book of national and international reputation to his credit. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Society of Vegetable Science (ISVS), Varanasi. He also received the Best Poster Award & Research Paper award by ISVS in 2017-18. He is also a member of the editorial board for BMC Plant Biology, Discover Plants, Scientific Reports, Engineering Microbiology and Journal of Agriculture and Livestock Farming.
