Description
The dissemination of real-time videos on Vehicle Networks (VANETs), covers numerous services such as: emergency videos and advertisements. These face many challenges due to the quality and environmental requirements of VANETs. To address these challenges and reduce routing overhead, statistical routing protocols (SRPs) have been proposed for the distribution of video streams on VANETs, typically using positioning and Quality of Service parameters. However, considering the users' perspective, concern is also required with issues related to acceptance by the Human Visual System. This book focuses on improving the QoE of real-time videos on VANETs. Thus, a multi-layer mechanism based on QoE is proposed, modularly coupled in SRPs to offer parameters related to video on the network. From the proposed solution, the network nodes decide for themselves whether to retransmit the video sequences or not, driving the system. Results show that the gains in the proposed protocol compared to other current SRPs have forced video dissemination with greater support for QoE, less routing overhead and satisfactory achievability.
