Description
With the current expanding commercial interest in bromine and its compounds, it was felt that a symposium on the subject would be both desirable and timely. That this was so was amply shown by the attendance at the First International Conference on the Chemistry and Applications of Bromine and its Compounds held at the University of Salford, in September 1986. This volume differs from normal Proceedings in that the organisers of the symposium invited each of the plenary lecturers to write a major chapter for this book, based on their presentation but providing a fuller guide to the area covered. This is the first major work on the subject for more than 20 years; it is not only a valuable research monograph, but also a useful source book for those involved in education.
