Description
Richard A. Prayson, md, summarizes in outline form for active pathologists and residents in training-as well as those seeking a concise up-to-date overview of the subject -the essential element of the neuropathology curriculum. Topics range from basic information on the spectrum of neurologic-related disease to pertinent pictorial examples of many neuropathologic conditions. For each topic there are self-assessment tests based on both textual and pictorial material, along with sample answers and explanations designed to aid comprehension and understanding. Concise yet comprehensive, Neuropathology Review provides an effective and easy-to-use refresher course for those working pathologists wishing to update their skills, as well as for those preparing to take board exams in neuropathology.
Reviews / Votes
This is a well organized outline of neuropathology that is most useful for neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and pathology residents studying for board exams. Although there are no references, residents can easily identify gaps in knowledge using the outline and board-type questions from this book...Photographs are of good quality and show the classic features of the lesions depicted...This book is especially useful to residents who are learning neuropathology independently, but will also help direct learning objectives for residents on neuropathology rotations...The comprehensive outline, well-selected photographs, pertinent questions and answers, and thorough index help a reader learn important concepts and direct his further study of neuropathology. - Doody's Health Sciences Book Review Journal It serves as a useful revision guide to those who know some neuropathology, and a learning aid for those of us with virtually zero experience of it. - ACP NewsThis is a well organized outline of neuropathology that is most useful for neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and pathology residents studying for board exams.
