Description
Every millennium or so, a special group of "Wunderkinder" (child prodigies) is destined to walk among us. The year is 2070. Throughout the United States of America, twelve such Wunderkinder are about to be born, six girls and six boys.
In Book I of The Torch Series, Rise of the Twelve, we learn initially about the "Origins of the Twelve" and the first seventeen years of their unusual lives. In Part II of Book I, it is 2088, as we are taken on a unique journey with these now eighteen-year-olds who are in transit from the U.S. along with many other athletes, all destined to represent the U.S. at an unprecedented International Winter and Summer Titan Tournament. The Tournament is being held for the first time atop fabled Mount Olympus Mountain in Greece. This new setting radiates a surreal wonderland atmosphere of ancient mythology, contemporary Titan landmarks, traditions, and ultra-competitive games, all on a spectacularly designed natural and man-made layout.
In the background, storm warnings are gathering.
In Book II of The Torch Series, "Awakening of the Twelve" (due out in 2017), we will travel with the Twelve as, together, they visit their individual ancestral clans in Greece (Zeno), Ghana (N'Kosi and Ashanti), Egypt (Omari and Immanuela), Israel (Immanuela), Italy (Helena, Ashanti and Zeno), Germany (Olis), United Kingdom (Ashanti), Sweden and Norway (Fredrika), India (Lalitha), Russia (Petrov), China (Wei), Mexico (Humberto), and Canada (Helena). While we will experience much of the richness of these countries, along the way, we also will bear witness as the Twelve begin to confront several powerful dark challenges from agents of an ancient, cult-like order.
In the future third book of The Torch Series, "Heirs to the Power," we will discover: the shocking true cause of many of the past and present world-wide conflicts; the malevolent role played in such conflicts by the ancient order confronted by the Titan Twelve in Book II; and the destiny of the Twelve to act as our benevolent guardians and protectors in a coming seismic battle against agents of that order.
