Description
This introduction to neural networks describes what they are, what they can do and how they do it. While some scientific background is assumed, the reader is not expected to have any prior knowledge of neural networks. These networks are explained and discussed by means of examples, with the intention that by the end of the book the reader will have good, overall, up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field. The amin networks covered are: ADALINE, the multi-layer perceptron, Wisard, the Hopfield network, Bidirectional Associative Memory, the Boltzmann machine, the counter-propagation and ART networks, and Kohonen's self-organizing maps.
