Description
Computerized Dental Practice Management is written for the Dental Assisting programs offered in community colleges, career colleges, technical institutes, on the job training programs in dental offices, and the military. Computerized Dental Practice Management is a portion of the Dental Assisting course that all programs must offer. This course involves setting up patient files, filing insurance claims, keeping dental records and scheduling patients. Until recently this function was preformed using an elaborate filing system referred to as a Peg-board system. Students purchase a workbook accompanied by forms and files. Major dental companies have developed office management software for filing insurance forms, keeping dental records and scheduling. These computerized practices are replacing the peg-board system which is a standardized system of forms, clip folders and files and record management templates. Computerized Dental Office Management with Eagle-Soft teaches learners how to use software applications to manage the office using one of the major commercial software applications.
The book focuses on the basic concepts of how to use application software to manage the office and is accompanied by one of the popular commercial software programs, EagleSoft. The EagleSoft software is being provided to Thomson Delmar Learning by EagleSoft (at no cost) and is included with each textbook. The software will include the full functionality of the commercial version but will be limited to 10 patient profiles. The concept for working with a commerical software package along with an office management textbook is that the learner is presented with the basic principles of computerized office management and works through specific application exercises directly in the EagleSoft software. Teaches future dental assistants and dental office personnel the procedures and processes for managing the dental office using computerized procedures.
