In a world steeped in shadow and forever on the brink of night, our six reluctant heroes leave their twilight city behind and join the motley crew of pirates, necromancers and galley corpses aboard the warship Triton. Together, they embark on an epic voyage of discovery to the edge of the world.
Their journey brings them to a place very different to the one they left behind; a place where the dead aren't raised to serve the living, and where magic is forbidden to all but the gods. They aren't welcome in this place - and nor are the Risen dead they brought with - but they press on regardless in search of answers.

Beyond the Ever-Setting Sun continues the story of Remy, Gerard, Valanthé, Colin, Epifani, Thessu, and the Baron as they try to make sense of the revelations revealed at the end of book 1. They still don't know whether they're working to save the world or destroy it... and they still don't all agree which outcome they'd prefer.
