Description
Fully updated for 2005, this wall chart features a brightly coloured map of Britain and Ireland, in political colours and with clear lettering and symbols for easy reference. Administrative areas (both counties and unitary authorities) are picked out in distinctive colours to aid identification, with town and city names clearly shown, as well as roads, railways, airports, rivers, canals and sea contours. In addition, inset maps show the Shetland Islands and the Channel Islands at the same scale as the main map of 1:1 200 000 (19 miles to 1 inch). Included on the chart alongside the large political map are a series of smaller thematic maps covering the important topics of population, temperature, rainfall, wind speed and direction, roads and ferries, together with a physical map of the British Isles featuring lists of the largest islands, highest mountains and longest rivers. This wall chart is supplied in two versions: (a) laminated on one side and rolled into a clear plastic tube for use as a wall map; and (b) unlaminated and folded with a tipped-on card cover for use when travelling. It is ideal for mounting on a study wall or in the workplace.
