The editors and contributors for this book present a work which familiarizes the reader with a new wave of EEG research: the exploration of event-related desynchronization and synchronization. The domain of ERD and ERS has transcended its original somatosensorimotor realm and comprizes now the whole domain of afferent systems and, furthermore, the great new challenge to modern EEG, i.e. neurocognitive functions.
