Description
Facilitating Action Learning is a clear, concise and straightforward guide to this well-established approach to problem solving and learning in groups that enables change in individuals, teams, organizations and systems.
Through action learning people develop themselves and build the relationships that are the key to improving operations and bringing about innovations. Action learning involves not only a different skills set, but different values and operating assumptions If you are manager looking for a way to help your staff resolve difficult issues, or to break down barriers between sections and departments, or seek to further develop the inventiveness and innovativeness of your people, this practical book will show you how. As a trainer, business coach and facilitator seeking to add to their repertoires of skills and abilities, you will enhance your skill set.
Key Features:
- Action learning is presented, not as technique, but as a way of organizing and working together collaboratively
- The Facilitator role has three aspects: the Initiator, Set Adviser and Facilitator of organisational learning
- Emphasis on the development of practice, and encouragement for each person to develop their own accounts of practice
- Critical thinking and reflection as a key aspect of the role
Teachers in business schools and in higher and adult education turning to learning approaches which engage and involve their students and clients in resolving real world problems and taking on actual challenges and opportunities will also find the book a must read.
