Alejandro Peña-Ayala is a fellow of the World Outreach Light to the Nations Ministries, and a professor at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, as well as a member of the National Systems of Researchers, and the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Informatics -recognized as one of the best students in Mexico of his generation- as well as a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence and a PhD in Computer Science, all with honors. He conducted his postdoctoral studies at Osaka University, was a Visiting Scientist at the Research Laboratory of Electronics of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Psychology at Stanford University. His research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Education, Cognition, and Learning, a field where he has led dozens of research and academic projects. He has secured three patents, edited eight Springer books, spoken at various conferences across five continents, and published dozens of journal and proceedings articles with publishers such as: Elsevier, Springer, and Willey.
