Description
Wrist trauma remains one of the most common orthopedic conditions that present to the emergency department. In particular, the distal radius fracture is a common injury, but treatment decisions still remain controversial and are often based on surgeon experience. The bone quality and amount of comminution associated with this injury has made surgical fixation frustrating. There has been an explosion of new implants to try and overcome these problems. This issue covers the most recent information available on this very common problem. Other injuries to the wrist including scaphoid fractures, perilunate injuries, DRUJ injuries, and other carpal bone fractures are discussed to give the reader a comprehensive review of traumatic problems at the wrist.
