Festivals

Providing practical and structured activities for ten festivals which are used as a focus for work in primary schools, this book looks at festivals which span a wide cultural and religious range and most of the calendar year. Thus major Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Chinese and Christian celebrations are represented, as well as popular British folk festivals (Hallowe'en, May Day and Bonfire Night) and American Independence Day. The conspicuous omission is Christmas, which is covered by two separate books in the "Blueprints" series.
