Raising the Standard, Flying the Flag

This challenging book has two central aims - to raise the standards of teaching and learning in RE at Key Stage Three and to meet the requirements of increasing numbers of students in mainstream schools who have special eduactional needs. The book is split into three units, each containing a stunning range of activities and information, with enough material for 10 lessons:

Unit One - Developing ICT skills (Information Communication Technology) around the theme: Why do people go on pilgrimage?
Unit Two - Learning from religion: How can we explore the journey of life?
Unit Three - Teaching Genesis: Stories from three faith perspectives

The book encourages teachers to:

use ICT in creative ways to help children learn about religion
develop ways in which children can learn from religion
take a more theological approach to RE at Key Stage 3 by exploring key religious texts from Christian, Muslim and Jewish perspectives
