Description
Basically, the Olson text will offer many, many new topics that simply are not covered in Kay/Edwards: more coverage of core microeconomic issues and macro trends; international competition and comparative advantage; seeking new markets like selling in farmer's markets or choosing to go organic; or buying into the ethanol business. Everything is framed in a unique strategic business planning sense, looking at long term financing and goals. Additionally, there will be greater depth of coverage on core topics. And uniquely, Olson is using his grant money to hire a grad student to track down European, Brazilian, and Australian farming examples; plus Olson will be traveling extensively to Europe to seek further text materials. As one of the reviewers said, this book has the potential to become the Rolls Royce of texts in this market.
