Description
This project, designed for 14-16 year olds, builds upon the previous age group's project, but its resources focus on each of the subject areas and provide students with a more in-depth study of these. This element shows pupils how to design and make graphic products for packaging, signs and signage, interior design, card engineering, games and puzzles, information and user interfaces. Each student's book begins with a description of the Nuffield approach to learning design and technology at 14-16 so that students are clear about the requirements for working to GCSE standard. The case studies describe the ways in which firms and businesses design and manufacture goods and how these goods are then marketed and sold. They discuss the impact that products have on the people who use them and the places where they are made. The remainder of the book deals with the specialist information required for the focus area.
