Hydraulic Structures

Based on a course for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students, this new text book aims to provide a comprehensive treatment of hydraulic structures, including their geotechnical aspects. Part 1 provides coverage of dam engineering and related topics and Part 2 discusses a wide range of other hydraulic structures from river engineering, to hydroelectric power development, to coastal engineering. The main objective of the took is to build on an assumed background in hydraulics, soil mechnics, engineering materials and some knowledge of engineering hydrology, to provide not a monograph or design manual but a teaching text. Worked examples supplement the main text, and lists of references conclude each chapter.
