Notes from Moscow

As a Western world capital, Moscow is now unique in the fact that it has the accoutrements of a city but the economy of a village. Survival on the streets here is more akin to the 16th that the 20th century. For the first time since the coup which ousted Gorbachev, a Western photographer has compiled a detailed photographic essay on the effects of that event.
