Moving and Learning

This text provides a comprehensive approach by introducing basic principles of movement education and their application in activities and sports for elementary-aged youngsters. The material has been updated to reflect current interest in co-operative educational methods and multi-ethnic concerns. A new chapter is devoted to integration of movement education into the curriculum. It provides examples of how other disciplines such as language arts and science can be integrated into physical education lesson planning, and suggestions for teachers in other disciplines on how to incorporate physical education concepts into their subject matter. This edition places greater emphasis on critical thinking skill development. Co-operative games, games that are done in couples, groups or teams but are not competitive, are highlighted with a "holding hands" symbol.
