We first meet Stuart when he is embroiled in what might be seen as the stalking of a young woman (Miranda) who occupies his thoughts and actions as he seeks to connect with her life. His chronic inability to address situations head-on has lead to a problem at work. He allows things to escalate to the point where he feels he must take desperate measures rather than admit defeat and risk losing face. Miranda, though, is not what she seems. Stuart is no match for her, but an unlikely relationship develops. Stuart is drawn into further wrongdoing and the toxic consequences threaten to get out of control.
