Description
Dark, atmospheric, and unflinching-Secrets the Swamp Keeps pulls readers deep into the humid, dangerous heart of South Florida's Big Cypress Swamp, where every shadow hides a secret and every ripple in the water could mean death.
When Autumn Hayes is brutally murdered and discarded in the swamp, her brother Bryson, her best friend Sage, and her troubled ally Antoine set out to uncover the truth. What begins as a desperate search for justice soon reveals a web of corruption stretching from grim small-town backstreets to the polished halls of power-where drug money, political ambition, and organized crime intersect.
The Everglades becomes more than just a setting-it's a living, breathing character, cloaked in menace, feeding on secrets no one dares speak aloud. As Bryson battles grief, Sage fights for courage, and Antoine wrestles with his own haunted past, they find themselves pitted against not just corrupt leaders and ruthless criminals, but the legendary hitman known only as Silas "The Ghost."
Fast-paced yet layered with emotional depth, this novel is not just a thriller-it's a story about family, trauma, resilience, and what people are willing to risk for truth and justice. Nelson blends gritty crime fiction with social commentary, delivering a suspenseful narrative that asks: When the swamp swallows the truth, what will it take to bring it back to the surface?
