In the near future, the world has experienced several significant changes. The Temzen Corporation's many technological innovations have vastly improved and expanded communication, infrastructure, entertainment, medical procedures, space travel, and so much more. Meanwhile, police agencies have been replaced by a new organization known as The Defenders, a special force of individuals who each wear a magical Pistos Gem on their chest that bestows each of them a unique ability for keeping the peace. As The Defenders investigate a series of mysterious abductions, they discover that Agent Zane Sarian's brother Aron--a Temzen employee--is counted among the missing. As these users of tech and magic cross paths, Zane and his team discover that all is not as it seems inside the walls of his brother's workplace. Their case becomes even more dangerous as they encounter several outsiders with deadly agendas of their own. Can Zane and the Defenders find those who have disappeared? Will the Temzen Corporation provide help or additional obstacles along the way?
