Greg J. Neimeyer, Ph.D. is professor of psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Neimeyer has served as Graduate Coordinator in the Department, and also as the Director of Training in its APA-approved doctoral program in counseling psychology. He has served as the Chair of the Executive Board of the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs in the United States, and has been recognized by the American Psychological as the recipient of its award for Outstanding Achievement in Career and Personality Research. Much of his work focuses on aspects of postmodern psychology and psychotherapy. Elected as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Dr. Neimeyer has also been recognized for his outstanding teaching by Psi Chi, the University of Florida, and by the Golden Key National Honor Society, and has been inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars. As a recipient of the University of Florida Outstanding Mentoring Award, he continues to teach and train undergraduate and graduate students in psychology. He also maintains an active clinical practice through his affiliation with the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the University of Florida, where he conducts research and workshops on graduate school preparation.
